Chairman's report for 2005/2006 I am pleased to report on another active and successful year. Following the submission of the flooding petition to the Scottish Parliament, I travelled to Edinburgh in September to hear it presented and debated - the outcome of which is still ongoing.
The bottle and other banks having proved so useful we made an application and paid for a waste paper bank which was delivered in September and has been a tremendous success, having to be emptied every week. The resurfacing of the car park will be done this year. The monthly car boot sales have been successful but further volunteers are always needed as helpers. A new management team has been elected to the Maggie Fair Committee. Mrs Ena Dunbar President Mrs Eleanor Masson Vice Mrs Ginny Slater Secretary Mes Ruth Taylor Treasurer
I trust all the usual helpers and supporters will continue with their good work to make the Fair as successful as ever and would like to thank David and June Mackay particularly and the Maggie Fair Committee for the excellent job they do. I also take this opportunity of thanking Gerry for his Newsletter, Kevin for his accounting, and David for keeping up with us all, our attentive and supportive councillor Eddie Coutts and all members who have helped in any way with the many tasks undertaken by the Association. Finally, I wish the Association another interesting, productive, successful and rewarding forthcoming year.

Treasurers Report
2005-2006 has been a good financial year for the Amenities Association. Maggie Fair raised a tremendous £1,222, while the Car Boot Sales brought in a net profit of £971.50. With committed outgoings of £1018 for insurance (£818), and park wall repairs (£200), for 2006-2007, it is obvious that we would not be able to survive on the Maggie Fair monies alone. A big thankyou to all involved in the Car Boot Sales. The impact of our newly rediscovered Charitable status is still been investigated, but early indications it will have very little impact, but the paperwork involved in the investigations is somewhat lengthy, so please bear with me. And again a big thankyou to all involved in bringing monies into the coffers - THANKYOU.

At the AGM held on the 25 April 2005 the Committee all resigned and where re-elected unanimously. John Fetters Chair person Jerry Kerr Vice David Mackay Secretary Kevin Black Treasurer Matters arising
As a result of the road closure on the main Garmouth - Mosstodloch road, the verges and road surface on the Essil road has suffered fairly extreme damage. Cllr Coutts will speak to the Roads Department of Moray Council to clean the area and restore the road surface.
The site clearance in Innes road , next to Lilac cottage, has in fact been granted planning permission, described as " The site adjacent to Duncraig, Station rd" The Committee hoped that the Water Board moratorium would delay building until such time as the Treatment Plant is upgraded.
Ken Kennedy (MC Environmental Services) is monitoring the flooding adjacent to the play area in the Park on a regular basis.
There are still instances of vandalism throughout Garmouth. However the Police and Community Wardens are patrolling regularly. MC Flood alleviation Dept. have indicated that the Crown (Smith's Gore) will repair the damage to the river bank at Essil. No time frame however, has been given.
The chairman of the Amenities has asked the committee to canvas the Community over the increased cost of maintaining the WATER TOWER.
Since 1990 £14,264 has been spent on its upkeep. This approx £1000 per annum is needed for the next 35 years. We are actively seeking a long term way of supporting the Tower. This will have to be an ongoing process with a positive plan for the future. The alternative is to ask Moray Council to release us from the remainder of the lease. If you wish to support maintaining the Tower, or have any proposals concerning very important subject, please get in touch.
