Hello folks, Due to a holiday abroad in October followed by severe jetlag, flooding of the treasurers house in November and the Christmas rush in December, a hurried meeting was called in January, to discuss the financial report of Maggie Fair 2005.
Mrs June Mackay, treasurer informed us that after expenses, insurance and the Maggie Fairings were deducted, the amount was £1629.64 for distribution The Amenities were allocated three quarters of it as customary which was £1222.23p and that left £471 for charities The St Andrews Ambulance Service was given £50 from it for attending Maggie fair free of charge. The Hall Committee received £100 in order to pay a bill of £103 for a broken window (again). There is a lovely park in which to throw a ball instead of stones in the street and less dangerous. The Maggie Fair Committee felt that the amount of each donation to our usual charities was too small nowadays so it was agreed to increase it and give to just two or three. A charity for a proposed hydro – therapy pool in Forres which would benefit those with arthritis and the Rainbow Development Children’s Group, was to be given £85. The Oak Hospice for the care of Cancer patients in Elgin was to have £85 and the Heart, Chest and Stroke Club £85 also. Mrs Dunbar commented that after all the months of hard work raising the money, it didn’t take long to spend it. The Company was warmly thanked for their efforts. Thanks are also due to the Community for the great support and help received. Without you we could not have done so well. Our A.G.M. is planned for Monday 13th of March. All welcome.
