The Village Hall committee has continued to work with hall users and other interested people to maintain the building and improve the facilities for the benefit of the whole community.

Last year the Playgroup, who use the hall every morning during term time, wanted to improve the environment in the main hall to make it more welcoming, comfortable and homelike.  With committee backing they sought grant funding to enable the hall to be redecorated, improve heating and provide curtaining to windows, door and stage front.
Everyone who has commented has been pleased with the result which has made the hall brighter and more cosy.
The hand washing facilities in the ladies toilet was improved and additional loft insulation purchased.
The committee itself has applied for a further grant from Awards for  all so that improvements can be made to the carpeting, cooking facilities and stage.
The committee has written to all users to consult on other improvements that are required at the hall.  Suggestions so far have included improving the layout and facilities in the kitchen, improvements to the disabled toilet, repairs to external pointing and harling, hand rails for disabled access, hot water to the disabled toilet and further improvements to the heating. The cost of heating the hall is one of the main expenses of running the hall and the considerable rise in electricity has meant that the committee has had to agree to increase the rental to £5.00 per hour for local users. The price has not risen in many years.  This hire charge still offers great value and it is hoped that the hall continues to be well used by all members of the community. The recent Soap and Sweet morning raised £412.78 for hall funds.
