We continue to meet regularly in the Parish Hall every two weeks on a Tuesday and enjoy many pleasant afternoons playing Whist and Scrabble as well as the odd Tombola. For our Autumn Bus Run we had an enjoyable trip taking the coastal route to Banff after stopping for lunch at the Station Hotel in Portsoy. We continued our journey to Turriff for some retail therapy at ‘Celebrations’ before returning home early evening.
At our last meeting in December, it gave us great pleasure to welcome two very well known local people, namely Robin Stewart and Rachel Emmott, who entertained us with some very professionally performed classical and traditional seasonal music. This was followed by tea and festive fare before the winning tickets of the Christmas Raffle were drawn. Once again we were very kindly invited to the Annual Christmas Concert at Mosstodloch School where we were entertained to music and words based on a theme of Around the World. To complete our festive activities, we had our Christmas Lunch at the Garmouth Hotel and as usual this was another excellent meal. We are nearly into Spring!! (everyone at this Club is an optimist) and we shall be looking forward to our regular fortnightly meetings, Summer outings and more entertainment. If you are over 50 – why not come and join us at our next meeting for 2pm on the 7th March – we know you will enjoy. Jennie Fear – President |
