No sign yet, but let’s hope Spring is round the corner. There have been some very successful still-life subjects at the classes. On March 2nd we have Bill Smith teaching more about watercolour and on SATURDAY 18th MARCH we have another ONE DAY OPEN WORKSHOP from 9.30am to 4.30pm. Anyone can come along.
It features figure drawing/painting in a medium of your own choice. A whole day with an art tutor for £12, morning and afternoon tea/coffee inclusive. Either bring a packed lunch or join those who walk up to the hotel.
Still to come we have Sheila Simpson of Nairn on 13th April demonstrating the use of pastels. Then we have SATURDAY 22ND APRIL – SPRING ART FEST 10am-12 noon. Again we have a children’s art competition with entries from the pre-school group and the 2-3’s with some great prizes sponsored by the TOY SHOP in Buckie. Winners will be announced and prizes awarded mid-morning about 11am.
We also have the opportunity of a day’s tutorial at Michael Kitchen’s studio on 29th April for those who wish to go – fee is £15.
The AGM is on May 18th and on 1st June we have an outing to Millbuies, weather permitting. Good still-life studies on alternate classes brings us up to preparations for Maggie Fair. As that will come round soon enough, we’ll leave it out for the moment, though I’d like to remind everyone we will be having our third Elgin Exhibition in November at the Gallery in the Elgin Library – more details later – but a good time to be thinking of that extra special Christmas present for someone.
