Spring is here again and we have had several new children start with our groups since Christmas. A warm welcome to them all. In recent weeks our playgroup children have been making bird cakes to continue feeding the birds in their gardens until the warmer weather is with us, as well as bringing home Chocolate coins in red envelopes following the  Chinese New Year.
Our 2-3 group children have been making the most of the occasional cold spell and making beautiful snow men. Both groups have celebrated Valentines day and brought home cards for their parents and siblings.

Again although these events seem quite far away there are some dates I wanted to let you know about in advance of the next publication:

Saturday 25 March – we are holding a ‘good-as-new’ / jumble sale.  Donations of suitable items can be dropped off on the morning of the sale or at The Old Church, Garmouth, Inverspey, Lein Road, Kingston, or Victoria House, Beach Road, Kingston.  If you cannot drop items off, please phone Claire on 870408 to arrange collection.  Suitable items include clean clothing, toys, books and games.

Saturday 29 April – is our Annual Spring Fayre.  This is always a popular event in the village, with home bakes, tea and coffee, toys and books, raffle and various other stalls. If anyone has donations of plants for the plant stall and items for raffle prizes or if anyone has any other ideas for stalls please contact Lorna or Sam on 870511.

Wednesday 31 May – 7.30 pm for 8.00 pm – AGM

We will also be holding our next Open Day during May so look out  for our posters advertising this event - any interested parents or any members of our community will be most welcome to meet with the staff, committee and see what wonderful facilities we have for our children.

I would like to use the opportunity to ask whether there is anyone in the community who would like to become involved in helping our groups during the play sessions. There are always odd occasions where we need extra helpers - staff attending training events, or to cover sickness etc. Interested parties would have to undergo the standard checks for enhanced disclosure in order to work with children, and they may be asked to come along at short notice.  Anyone interested in working with us on a voluntary basis should call Lorna on 870511.

Until next time.....
Lorna
