The Village Hall is in need of a thorough clean, as well as some
redecoration, and minor maintenance work. The hall committee would
like to coordinate a hall clean supported by as many hall users and
groups as possible.
We propose that volunteers choose from a list of jobs to be done and
arrange with hall keyholders to gain access at a convenient time,
ideally working in groups of two or more.
The attached list is not exhaustive and can be added to as other items
requiring attention are noted . Please feel free to add your own -
those areas that annoy you and you would like tidied up or fixed.

Over the course of the last few weeks there have been some meetings held by supporters of Elgin City, to discuss forming a Supporters Trust.
These have been a great success, and interest and enthusiasm for such a move has become apparent, not only from around Speyside, but from as far afield as Australia.
If you'd like to get involved, the next meeting will held at 7.30pm in Elgin City Social Club on Friday 12th October. All are welcome.
To keep informed of progress you can also visit the new EC Supporters Trust website http://www.ecfcsupporterstrust.co.uk/

Some of you may have heard that a new whisky has been bottled recently by the name of Leinburn.
Recalling the days when Garmouth and Kingston were one of the largest shipyards in the UK, Leinburn tells the story of this forgotten history of the River Spey.
Although where it's distilled and aged is a closely kept secret, it's possible to say that it's a 12 Year Old Single Malt from not far up river.
Most of the current and future bottling is destined for export to the USA and Far East, but there is a limited amount available in the UK now.

‘SHAMANS OF THE SPEY’
Friday 23rd March 2007.
GARMOUTH VILLAGE HALL
7.30PM -9.00PM
The background is that Howie Firth heard about the opportunities for developing events for the Year of Highland Culture and thought it would be nice to design something with some of the musicians he knows. So he has put together an idea for a series of three evenings on the theme 'The Roots of Moray', two of which would be with Moray Gaelic Choir, and this is the first one to be staged in Garmouth.
